"Cowards never start, the weak never finish and winners never quit". - K.A. Sterritt
The DataloverZ is the best team anyone can ever be, our penultimate week started with a cheering charge from the team lead, and this energized us to conquer the task of the week. Truth be told, learning by doing is the best form of learning and we can boldly attest that we are better than who we used to be as Data Analysts, though the journey was with many hiccups, regardless we chose not to quit and here we are with the project of the week.
The Task
This week's task took us on an emotional toll as we worked on Global suicide rate insight analysis. Certain metrics such as country, year, sex, age, number of suicide, GDP per capita, and suicides per 100k were required to be included and used for the analysis.
The process
Getting a dataset that contains the necessary features without so much stress got us excited and also made the task easier for us. As usual, the data was loaded into Power query for cleaning and necessary transformation.
We went ahead to do the data visualization and below is our dashboard for Global Suicide Rate Insight Analysis.
Insights
- 7 million suicides have been committed globally.
- The age group 35-54years has the highest committed suicide rate.
- The committed suicide rate is far higher in males than in females.
- The highest suicide rate was recorded in Russian Federation followed by the United States and Japan respectively.
We can't wait
Dear Hashnoders,
We can't wait to crush our last project for the boot camp
We can't wait to launch out as data analysts
We can't wait to explore the world of Data!
